Office furniture - reduce the stress on natural resources and send less waste to landfill
If you have a quantity of surplus office furniture that you would like to donate to an award-winning social enterprise to help reduce the stress on natural resources and send less waste to landfill or would like to purchase recycled quality furniture at low cost you need to take a look at Green Works.
At Green Information HQ we needed a new pedestal for the office but we did not want something new made of MDF, wood or plastic so we went to visit Green Works near Woolwich and came away with a suitable pedestal for £10! Usually they are around £30 at Green Works but ours had some damage which we were happy to live with. Normally a new cheap one using MDF or similar would cost at least £80 and would have come with a hefty carbon footprint.
There is a huge volume of office furniture that is routinely land-filled and equally many third sector organisations or small businesses who can not afford decent furniture. Green Works bridges the gap between organisations which have redundant office furniture and those that need it.
Green Works is an award winning charity. As a not for profit social enterprise it is unique in providing a national service managing and recycling redundant office furniture on an industrial scale. The service is provided through a growing network of delivery partners each established charities and social enterprises in their own right, all working to support and regenerate their local communities often in deprived inner city locations.
Green Works participates in a variety of employment and training programmes and is currently working with HM Prisons to help prisoners find work.
There is a growing network of outlets nationwide and you can call 0845 230 2231 to get a quotation for collection if you have a quantity of surplus furniture for donation.
