Ironing By Anna Young

Nearly everyone I know hates ironing. They don’t hate it because it uses up loads of energy, in turn producing carbon dioxide which we all know contributes to the greenhouse effect, they just don’t like how long it takes. So don’t over iron! Stop yourself from bothering to iron things like underwear, pillowcases and hankies and stick to actual clothes. By only ironing the necessities you will save a fortune on your energy bills and means you have more time to do the things you want to do.

You know what why iron? Although there are some people who actually enjoy it. When visiting a shop how about purchasing clothes that are purposely crinkly saves you ironing doesn’t it. Or how about trying out the ‘scrunch’ test? This is where you go into a shop look at a top and scrunch its sleeve. If it doesn’t crease, buy it! (Obviously only if you actually need a new top, no need to over consume) If it does crease be prepared to iron. However, when doing this try to do it discretely, we don’t want you getting kicked out of the shop!

As well as the ‘scrunch test’, there are other ways in which to prevent creases in clothes. After washing how about hanging any clothes that will crease on a hanger placing them on a washing line and the creases will drop out. If you can’t put the washing on a line outside, a steamy bathroom should do the trick.
